Roadside Chat - Put the phone down. No really, put the phone down.
The FOMO is real. Researchers around the world recognize the “fear of missing out” or FOMO as the feeling of apprehension that one is either not “in the know” or is missing out on information. This phenomenon can cause actual anxiety and regret, especially for those who use their cell phones to frequently text or engage in social media.
Combatting FOMO while behind the wheel may be difficult for some, but it can be done. Switching off notifications and stowing your phone in the glove box or other location that is not easily accessible while driving may be tough to do at first, but it can significantly decrease the risk of a distracted driving crash.
