That’s the kind of friend who will have a tough conversation with you and find you a sober ride home.
National statistics from 2016, the most recent year when complete data is available, shows that every 50 minutes, someone dies in a crash involving an alcohol-impaired driver. There is some good news in that drunk-driving fatalities have fallen by a third in the last three decades; however, drunk-driving crashes still claim more than 10,000 lives per year.
