Message Monday - Drinking and driving can kill a friendship
You know that one friend who you can count on to tell you when you have something in your teeth? That’s the same person you want with you when you’ve been drinking and still think it’s a good idea to get behind the wheel. That’s the kind of friend who will have a tough conversation with you and find you a sober ride home.
National statistics from 2016, the most recent year when complete data is available, shows that every 50 minutes, someone dies in a crash involving an alcohol-impaired driver. There is some good news in that drunk-driving fatalities have fallen by a third in the last three decades; however, drunk-driving crashes still claim more than 10,000 lives per year.
