Message Monday - Live for another summer - drive sober
Labor Day is a great time to gather with friends and celebrate the end of summer. It’s also the last big warm-weather travel weekend. Those two facts can collide for deadly results when friends or family members who have been drinking get behind the wheel.
You may have heard that 94 percent of fatal crashes can be linked back to one or more bad choices by a driver. Why not do all you can to make sure a traffic crash isn’t the reason you or a loved one isn’t around for the fun next summer?

The fatality count of 212 is an increase of seven since last Monday. In all of 2016, 404 people were killed on Iowa highways. To see statistics published daily by the Office of Driver Services, go to the daily fatality report at https://www.iowadot.gov/mvd/stats/daily.pdf
