Message Monday - Every party should elect a designated driver

November 7, 2016

11-7 message mondayWe are all aware of the importance of electing a candidate who is trustworthy and reliable. For your next outing, are you a person others can trust to hold true to your word, stay sober and provide that safe ride home?

Is being a designated driver a huge responsibility? You bet. As a DD, you hold the fate of your riders in your hands. There is good news about designated drivers, according to DesignatingDriving.net, since designated driving became popular in the United States in the 1980s, as estimated 500,000 lives have been saved, as well as averting hundreds of thousands of crashes that may have caused serious injury. The site also suggests that Americans are stepping up as well. More than 73 million serve as or use a designated driver each year.

Iowa's long-range transportation plan continues to sharpen the focus on future needs

Iowa's long-range transportation plan continues to sharpen the focus on future needs

November 1, 2016

IA-Motion_horizontal_color-gradient.fwSince the 1920s when Iowa roadbuilders struggled to get our Model T’s out of the mud, building and maintaining stretches of concrete or asphalt to connect us has been a focus for the Iowa Department of Transportation.

Recently, the Iowa Transportation Commission and Iowa DOT have been using citizen input, data, and analysis to make sure its focus is in line with current and future transportation needs. As you have seen in previous blog posts, this planning effort, known as Iowa in Motion 2045, seeks to help the Commission develop and implement a clear vision for the future of transportation in our state.

NOT FINDING WHAT YOU NEED? WE CAN HELP.
