Message Monday - June 20, 2016 - Bikers are bright, right? Ride to be seen

Every day millions of people travel from home to work. In Iowa in the summer, several people choose to use a motorcycle as a fun and efficient way to get where they need to go.

You may not know it, but today is the 25th Annual International Motorcycle and Scooter Ride to Work Day.






Natl ride to work dayThe non-profit organization behind the commemoration,, is dedicated to promoting safe riding. They say riding to work:
  • is fun
  • reduces traffic and parking congestion
  • uses less fuel than driving an automobile
  • leaves a rider alert and energized
  • results in less pollution than commuting in a larger vehicle

It you’re taking a trip on a motorcycle, please remember to dress in bright colors so others can better see you. For those traveling on four wheels, please be extra alert for two-wheeled commuters.
