2-23-message-mondayDo those “left-lane drivers” get you down-right mad? According to Iowa law, drivers on interstates and expressways should drive in the right lane and use the left lane for passing.

See how Iowa’s laws relate to the left-lane passing laws of the other 49 states. If you think "left lane drivers" were only in Iowa, that is far from the truth.

26 traffic deaths in 2015, an increase of 3 fatalities from last week.

2-16-message-mondayZero Fatalities – sounds like an impossible goal unless you think about it one person or one crash at a time. A recent study showed 99 percent of vehicle crashes are caused by human error. Had each person causing a crash changed one or more behaviors, that crash would have been avoided. Crashes, including those causing fatalities, are not inevitable. We’ve identified some of the most dangerous behaviors that are killing people on Iowa’s roads. They are speeding, driving impaired, driving distracted, driving drowsy, and not buckling up.

2-9-message-mondayEveryone around you knows when you are texting and driving.  You look like a bobblehead figurine sitting on top of a loud speaker at a rock concert!

The bus driver in  the video below was doing the same thing while putting the lives of his passenger in jeopardy. He had probably been doing it many times before this day and got away with it.  His good luck with not getting caught ended on this day with a bus full of passengers crashing into a stopped queue of traffic on the interstate.

2-2-message-mondaySince 1887, Americans have eagerly awaited Punxsutawney Phil’s weather prediction a an early spring or six more weeks of winter. Whether winter or spring, road rage is never good. As Bill Murray tells Phil in the movie Groundhog Day, “Don’t drive angry.”
