For many of us, summer vacations are anticipated and planned for months. If you’re loading the gang into the "Family Truckster" for your summer trip, did you remember to check the tires? Even if you’re not traveling far, you have a lot riding on your vehicle’s tires every day.
This is National Tire Safety Week, (http://www.safercar.gov/tires/index.html), which just serves as a good reminder to double check your vehicle’s tires. Across the nation last year, approximately 11,000 tire-related crashes were reported and 200 people died in those crashes.
Proper tire pressure allows your vehicle’s tires to perform the way they were designed. Proper tire inflation isn’t only a great idea to increase safety, it also saves you money because the tires last longer and the fuel economy increases.
So the next time you top off the gas tank, take an extra few minutes and check each tire’s pressure.
