Family happenings - June 30, 2014

Family-happsThis segment of the Transportation Matters for Iowa blog is a space where Iowa DOT employees can share family milestones with their co-workers. Celebrating life events like the birth of a new baby, a wedding, retirement or other personal news brings us closer together as an Iowa DOT family. Gabby and JackJill Garton, environmental specialist in the Office of Location and Environment; her husband, Tim; and their 4-year-old daughter, Gabby, welcomed baby Jack Ryan Feb. 4. Baby Jack weighed in at 7 pounds, 14.5 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Congratulations to the Garton family.










Evelyn mitchell with kim snook Evelyn Mitchell, statistical research analyst, retired from the Office of Driver Services June 4. According to her co-workers, “Evelyn has been a kind, cheerful, and devoted presence in Driver Services for many years, and always brightened our months with her special lunch deliveries.” Thank you, Evelyn, for all that you have done for Driver Services, the Motor Vehicle Division, and the DOT. You will be missed! Have a long and happy retirement.



Diann and famDiann McMillen, administrative assistant in the Office Vehicle & Motor Carrier Services, retired May 30. A group of her friends, family, and co-workers joined Diann for a celebration of her career. We all wish her well in her retirement.
